Name: Lobynn Cha
What inspired you to open Little Miss Korea?
A few years ago, the Lehigh Valley was in need of Korean flavors. I wanted to introduce the Korean palate in an approachable way. I received the opportunity to purchase the stand in the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market, and I haven’t looked back since!
What makes your restaurant different from other Korean restaurants in the Lehigh Valley?
I offer a cultural mashup of Korean/American/European dishes to introduce quintessential Korean flavors in a unique manner.
Why did you want to open a restaurant in Downtown Allentown?
Little Miss Korea caters to the same demographic Downtown Allentown attracts. I wanted my brand to grow as Downtown Allentown is in the phase of this incredible transformation.
What’s your favorite part of being in the Downtown Allentown Market?
The merchants! They have become another family and we all get along very well. We have good feedback for each other, and their input is valuable.
What’s your top signature menu items?
The top-selling item is the customizable noodle bowl, and my signature items include: Kimchi Fries, Bao Buns, Bulgogi Beef Cheesesteak & Homemade Dumplings.
What alcoholic drinks do you serve?
Soju “Capri-Sun” Pouches- made with Soju, a distilled rice & sweet potato liquor mixed with Green Plum extract or Mango Passionfruit Juice. We also serve Domestic Beer & Imported Beer.
Do you offer any specials during the week?
Yes! I have a lunch special every weekday from 11:30am-1:30pm. We will be serving Dumpling Noodle Soup Wednesday-Sunday!
Will you be adding any new menu items in the new year?
Yes! I plan on making the Dumpling Noodle Soup a permanent fixture on the menu, as well as featuring popular Korean street foods. Stay tuned!
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not cooking up delicious Korean food?
I love spending time with my family, listening to podcasts, and trying new activities.
